I came about 1001 Rules for My Unborn Son when I was surfing and reading my usual blogs I visit on kiddie stuff. I couldn’t stop reading it and was laughing at some of the “rules” posted in the author’s blog (readers have submitted some of their rules too). They really do recall a more genteel and formal lifestyle — one that I’m not used to honestly. BDW and I work at an office where the dress code had my mom asking if I was going to the grocery or malling a few times until she’s gotten used to it.
Most of the rules are just common sense though and are just really fun to read. The blurb for the book says
“Boys need rules. One man’s instructions for raising a thoughtful, adventurous, honest, hardworking, self-reliant, well-dressed, well-read, well-mannered young gentleman.”
Ah, raising a human being, what were me and BDW thinking???
Anyway here are some of my favorites (I didn’t read the entire blog, I had some things to attend to like doing actual work LOL!) and the pics they came with:
1) Be a good wingman.
2)

3) Surprise your dad at the office.
Trust me, whatever I’m doing is not as important as you.
4) Stand up to bullies. You’ll only have to do it once.
5) Always keep a recent photograph of yourself on file in case of emergencies or unexpected notoriety.
6) Look people in the eye when you thank them, especially waiters.
7) Never post a picture online you wouldn’t feel comfortable showing your mother, your boss, and the dean of admissions. — Hear that kids?
8) Have a signature dish, even if it’s your only one.
9) Try a hairstyle that you’ll one day regret. I’ll get over it.

Good Day! I also encountered the blog on 1001 Rules for my Unborn Son. I suppose the blog came after the book. I am interested in owning the book but as I checked it with NBS online, there was none. Can you divert me to possible source of the book other than online purchase or shipment? Thanks!
hi mft515 – you can try powerbooks and fully booked. i know that they can do special orders for you if the books are not available at their branches
