Nuvali, Finally

As a family, we rarely go on day trips but on one afternoon on a holiday, we all just hopped into our huge van (DW calls it “big car!” or “big cah!” hehe) and we sped off to Sta. Rosa, Laguna where Nuvali is. It was loosely planned, we left a little before lunch but if it weren’t for these trips, we would have probably just stayed at home and hung out (our favorite past time hehe)

We got stuck in traffic along South Super so we arrived at Sta. Rosa at around 3 pm already. Everyone was starved but good thing Rose and Grace  was there. It’s a little bit after the Paseo De Sta Rosa complex along the way to Tagaytay. It’s well-known for its Bulalo and Pinoy home cooking.

The Bulalo was served hot and without any hint of sweetness unlike other types of Bulalo that have saging na saba and sweet corn. BDW loves this simple, straightforward Bulalo. Personally, I’m ok with Bulalo period. What I was more concerned about that day was “why were we slurping down hot Bulalo  on a very hot day?!” (pawiiiiis)

Mom ordered other dishes and they were all gone in a flash. (3 pm ka ba naman kumain ng lunch e :) )

It’s turo-turo type but they serve your orders at your table. There were a lot of native sweets on sale too. I bought one of my childhood favorites, PUTO-SEKO!

After the quick lunch, it was off to Nuvali! What we’re really after are these:

clamoring kois

The huge school of Koi! DW calls fish “Fish Isda” or “Fishda”. We have a small koi pond at home and so he was familiar with these folks.

KOI!!

We bought fish food and DW fed them

We spent about an hour in Nuvali. After feeding the fish, we walked around the compound. You can ride the water taxis and rent bikes or just spend the whole day at the board walk. Nuvali’s a pretty great place to hang out as restaurants can be found within the area (I saw an Italianni’s and Crisostomo).

I would go back to Nuvali again if there were more features added to the area  (like a koi show para na silang dolphins with tricks hahaha) or if it’s a stop on the way to somewhere like Tagaytay for example but I’m still glad we came.  Honestly for me, I love day trips because it’s family time turned up a notch. I’m just grateful for lazy afternoons and big cars filled with gas :)
