Hi folks! Do you remember Jiggles? Yep we got her for DW’s 1st Birthday Party and ever since,  she’s become a favorite host and artist for our friend’s kiddie parties too. It’s awesome how many balloon tricks she does. For each party we attended where she’s the host, you’ll be sure she’s added new cartoon characters to her repertoire. But this one below is still my favorite:

Well, Jing (Jiggle) messaged me in Facebook and told me that she’s currently not accepting any hosting gigs for the meantime. She’s undergone surgery and her voice was affected. Jing has yet to gain her voice back so for the parties that she’s committed to, she’s been bringing along another host while she does her balloon art.  Jing told me that she can’t even sing “Happy Birthday” now So guys, if you still do want  Jiggles to brighten up your party, you can still definitely book her but you need to book another host. Jiggles can still create her amazing balloon creations for you for sure, maybe even order her artwork in advance if you want to wow with your guests with creations like these:

He had three cakes for  his birthday

A chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting and chocolate sprinkles for his birthday

A rainbow cake with rainbow sprinkles and rainbow candles for his first party

And the third big Goldilocks cake at his last party at BDW’s house in Paranaque

We had three small parties and three fun-filled days! Thanks to all those who came and celebrated DW’s big day

I’m starting a new thing on this blog which would feature real kiddie parties that hopefully would give all of us some ideas on how to plan our own parties.  The first party I’m featuring is Matty’s first birthday party. Matty’s parents are close friends of ours. In fact, Matty’s dad is DW’s godfather The darling Matilda celebrated her first birthday with an indoor garden party held at the Acropolis Clubhouse.

Daddy Dennis wrote about the party and shared his thoughts on that day:

Heavy monsoon rains notwithstanding, July 31 was a very memorable day for us since it was the time our daughter Matilda Isabelle held her first birthday party. The heavy downpour did little to deter  close friends and family members from heading on to a packed Acropolis Clubhouse in Libis and sharing the special moment with Matty.  The party took about three months of on-again, off again planning (mostly off-again) but thankfully the venue was secured almost half a year prior as the good ones are impossible to book on short notice. Polkadots Events did a wonderful job decorating the place even within a contracted time period, no thanks to the early morning miscues of clubhouse admin people (With our earlier Christ the King admin mix-up for Matty’s baptism, that makes us two for two in  the “totally unnecessary last minute hassles caused by people who should pay more attention to their jobs” category, hooray!).

Meanwhile, with very valuable inputs taken from Manilamommy.com, Centertable was the chosen caterer and Jiggles the Balloon Lady served as host-slash-entertainment and boy they did not disappoint! (thanks Manilamommy!)There were compliments all around for the food while kids and adults alike enjoyed the balloon making prowess of Jiggles. Also, we must say that we have never seen a room of grown individuals become so alive from a game of  80”s music trivia and working for lavish prizes of plastic tumblers and pencil cases at that. Carol’s sister was kind enough to donate Johnson and Johnson products as prizes to sweeten the pot. However, based on the guy who guessed the theme of Charlie’s Angels, he seemed already quite pleased with his Ben 10 plastic tumbler prize. (Later on we found the dozen or so misplaced Starbucks certificates that were supposed to come with the tumblers in the car. Ignorance is bliss.)

The spaghetti and chicken lollipop food carts were excellent last minute additions that proved to be a big hit with the kids. Surprisingly, the Fiorgelato booth manong was the first one to call it a day despite the chilly weather. We really had hungry guests let’s put it at that.

Thankfully Matilda was her usual jovial self and wasn’t fazed by the sheer number of people in the venue – something she’s not used to seeing.  She gladly posed for pictures, did the rounds of the tables as a good celebrant should and even tried to blow, err..lick the birthday candles. Overall it was an exceptionally fun day for an exceptionally wonderful baby and made extra special by family and friends present. Now were already looking forward to her second birthday celebration – maybe this time a quiet one at home would be a nice change.
