Mommy Mae
I never knew I am capable of loving someone this much. It was neither an easy pregnancy nor a quick delivery. I endured 17 long hours of labor only to deliver via Caesarian Section in the end. I was crying, scared for my own life while I was lying on the operating room table but when I heard Johan’s first cry, it was like music to my ears. The long wait, the pain of his birth, the permanent scar of the operation – everything was all worth it. I was beyond words when I first saw him and that’s when I realized – my life isn’t my own anymore. Everything that I do will be about this little man whose life now depended on me. I know I will never be a perfect mother but I will do my best to be good enough for my son.
Mommy Lyn
I am a newbie wife and a soon-to-be mom. I just got married last December and I am eight months pregnant right now.
What will be my “mommy-defining moment?”
Hhhmmm… Well, I think that will be the day when I had my first ultrasound. This is the day when my husband and I saw the first image and first heard the heartbeat of our baby. This is it!!! I am going to be a mother!!! 🙂
I cannot explain the feelings I felt during that day. Maybe the same feeling all the mothers and soon-to-be mothers in the world felt when they knew that there is really a human being growing in their body.
And I am sure that that unexplainable feelings I felt will be the same or even greater when I deliver our baby girl in this world.

Mommy Tiff
When I gave birth to my first baby, he did not cry. He came out with problems and only lived for 2 months. My mommy-defining moment was when I heard my 2nd baby cry out loud while I was still in the operating room. Best sound any mom can hear. I knew then that I was going to be a mommy to a healthy baby this time.
Mommy Sunshine
I am a first time mom here. My baby is still in my womb but that does not hinder my baby from making me feel like a real mommy. At first it was like nothing. Yes I am pregnant but I do not feel anything different. No morning sickness, no headache, not craving for something weird and even my tummy is not that big. My friends even told me that I do not look pregnant instead I just look full. But last week after our bible study while unwinding with my friend (she’s having her nails done) I felt a quick but powerful movement inside me. It was not a heartbeat, it was like a very strong kick! Im shocked and my friend ask me why. I told my friend without blinking that I have a baby inside me and he moves for the first time and that is my mommy-defining moment!
Mommy Marianne
My mommy defining moment happened when I went for an ultrasound for the very first time in my life. During that time, I was really upset and confused because I know I was going to be a single mom. Thoughts of how I could provide and take care of my child lingered in my mind. It was all too cloudy and sorrowful, and my doctor was even trying to calm me down. Until the image came on the screen…there were images! From there I learned that I was not only carrying one, but two- there two sacs inside my uterus! And then I heard heartbeats, which made me cry more, but surprisingly, the tears were no longer brought by sadness, but from pure joy. From then on, I made a vow to forever love, keep and protect my twins amidst everything that will come into our lives.
