It’s been a full year and I have pumped until the last drop. My baby boy Noah has turned one and with it my body celebrated 24/7 days of pumping breastmilk for his nourishment. I couldn’t believe how much milk I had. I beamed with pride when my mom would always tell me “wala ng space freezer sa taas, sa baba mo na lang lagay yung ibang milk mo” I can tell she was proud of me too 🙂 I never realized my body’s capacity to produce and to nourish. Drop by drop I pumped and squeezed and I gave because I never doubted that breastmilk is the best for Noah. The NICU nurses loved that Noah had so much supply and I even told them they could get from Noah’s stash if the other moms have yet to give their little ones their daily supply.
I brought you everywhere but we spent most of our days at our office’s wonderful privacy room.
It was an awesome year. I dubbed thee my super sucker because well you SUCKED and you sucked very well. Even if recent week’s efforts yielded only 4ozs a day, I never felt sad. I knew the end was near but it felt like I was running a race and I can finally see the finish line. My job to give from my body and to sustain my little one’s feeding is almost over and what a race it was. I ran slow and steady. Although it started off frantically, I was able to settle into a rhythm and your quiet humming served as the soundtrack to the race.
Now I will be passing you off to another mommy who hopefully will benefit from your super sucking abilities. She has so much more milk to give because she’s feeding her daughter directly too. I hope you serve her well too as you have served me.
Goodbye my dear pump! Will I see you again soon? Hehehe 😀

The AVENT Comfort Dual Electric Breast Pump is the most comfortable and lightest that I have ever used. I have used three kinds from three different brands and the AVENT comfort pump wins hands down. It is light, comfortable to use and is really quiet.
Here’s a really great vide review of the pump. If you are looking for a breast pump, you should definitely consider AVENT’s Comfort line as well.

September 30, 2013 at 11:31 pmHI Neva! pareho pala tayo, Pio just recently self weaned, as in ayaw na nyang mag latch =( I stopped pumping months ago since i only felt frustrated whenever i see how much milk i pumped. I used the Medela PISA, and you’re right, ang bigat nya! but who am i to complain? It was just a gift from my bestfriend. Now, i have passed it on to my cousin in-law and i’m so happy to say that she has been producing and pumping so much milk, 8 ounces every 2-3 hrs! Imagine that! Sa sobrang dami, di na kasya sa freezer nila and she gave 40 bags (8 oz/bag) to Marga =) Hooray to breastfeeding mommies! =)
