I saw this video a few days ago. The hashtag was #NoToParentJudging and it showed kids in different states of disarray and how the parents of these kids have been “judged”.
The ad resonated with me. I shared the ad right away in my personal account on this blog’s FB page.
I saw David in the kid with the half-tucked shirt. I remember the time David went to school in his PE uniform only to find out they were supposed to dress up as a character in their favorite book. Noah has missed therapy sessions because I’ve mixed up his schedules. As in he’s in the center for days when he doesn’t have therapy and absent on days when he has. Even if the schedule’s written out, wala talaga 🙁 2 words: hot mess!
I know that I’ve probably been judged just because I have judged. Horrible as it is but I have judged parents based on what I saw from their kids.
It is unfair, unjust and cruel. I have since learned that we are all just trying our best to be the parents our kids need. That we are all struggling and a little kindness and a knowing nod to a fellow parent goes a long way.
So thank you Tang for this wonderful ad and the timely reminder. I’m not sure if this is shown on free TV but here’s the video, in case you haven’t seen it yet.
