David started his *first* day as a Kindergartener yesterday. Well first day for us, because I misread the schedule and found out only Sunday night that school actually started last June 11. Horror!!! When I dropped off David yesterday, the teachers all asked if he is well and if he’s fully recovered (they assumed he was sick) I muttered, shamefully “opo ok na po sya”
AAAARGH! Anyway, the dude had a great time and the classmates he had for the past few years were in his class too. It’s so cool seeing the kids grow up together.ย I also love how we just went to school, no practice, no adjustments. School is just something David does and it’s probably not such a big deal for him even if it really is.
I’ll be looking for big schools soon since David will turn 5 this year. I already have a list, a majority of them are progressive schools. You know what my dream is? To have Noah and David in the same school. I would love for them to have shared school experiences growing up. I’ve actually asked one school if that is possible and the teacher who I was talking to said YES! Also, David’s preschool now also accepts kids with special needs. I know this is still something in the far future but a mom can dream right?
Wait I should stop daydreaming. David might miss school again hehehe ๐
How did the first day of school fare for you?

I actually had same episode when I forgot to attend a parent orientation and pretended I didn’t read the guidelines where the orientation date was written. Boo. And bec. I didn’t attend the orientation, my kid came to school on PE day in her regular uniform. double boo for me. Oh well, things like this we’ll just have to live with and learn from ๐

June 19, 2013 at 10:18 amhigh five fellow mom-of-the-year awardee! ako naman, laging nagmamadali magbasa ng school memo. Si aki lang ang naka-blue during the school presentation when everyone was wearing green. kami lang din ang bukod tanging pamilyang walang dalang potluck food for the family day. and recently, i got aki a yellow plastic envelope when dapat blue. Buti na lang, usisera si yaya kaya nakabili pa ako ng tamang envelope before the school started.

June 18, 2013 at 4:59 pmOur first day was hectic! But it was super fun, nonetheless. My kid’s in grade 2 now, and for the first time ever, he starts class at 8am (we would usually go for the afternoon section) and ends mid-afternoon. So I’ve been getting up before the sun rises to prepare baon. Time to test my mommy-ing skills! ๐

June 18, 2013 at 2:33 pmMy daughter went to school just today, yesterday was her first day, extended vacation kasi, hehe. Bad mommy. Her daddy made hatid her then her lunch. She looked like she was happy naman daw. Because prior to that, she always says she doesn’t like school, she would even say she hates it. So, I was actually dreading school opening. Hope she stays happy. Care to share the list of progressive schools? Hehe!

June 18, 2013 at 1:57 pmYou’re not the only one! I thought my Pre-Kinder’s class started yesterday. Today lang pala. Good thing I called up the school yesterday (she has afternoon class) to ask if there was a shortened period. Otherwise, palpak si mommy. She was about to get dressed in her uniform. ๐
