Team Santos Milestone!! We attended our first fashion show last Sunday and it was too too adorable. Gingersnaps celebrated their 20th anniversary with a fashion show which was also the debut of their 10 new models. We all collectively sighed and swooned when these kids sashayed down the runway, along with other cutie pies decked in Gingersnaps outfit. They were styled by no less than Pam Quinones so the kids looked super hip and stylish. I kinda wanted to copy some of their styles haha.
The fashion show was held at the SMX in SM Aura. The kids went nuts over the free popcorn, nachos and cotton candy while the moms and dads couldn’t get enough of the yummy hors d’oeuvres and wine from Bizu.
We are big Gingersnaps fans and it was inspiring to see a homegrown Filipino brand grow from strength to strength for 20 years. The brand has gone international but it has still kept all its productions right here in the Philippines. I was able to meet Sherry and Sabrina, the creative director of the brand in a SoMoms lunch last year and they were humble and really generous with their talent. They told us that they wanted to be able to control the quality of the clothes that’s why they kept Gingersnaps operations here in the Philippines. They’ve had employees who have grown with their company, which started out as a small kiosk in Robinson’s Department Store. Now Gingersnaps is present in all malls and major department stores and the really cute Gingersnaps gift box is a staple in kiddie parties and special occasions.
The fashion show highlighted the strengths of the brand, one of which is being able to stay on-trend without losing their classic sensibilities. Most importantly, the kids still look like kids in their clothes that’s why a lot of parents adore Gingersnaps. Both Dan and I love the fabric used by the brand because they fit our weather perfectly. I f0und out from Sabrina that they import their fabric the but the construction is all Pinoy. So QA is really key! Dan’s family has a small tshirt factory and he knows that the clothes in Gingersnaps are built to last!
The girl in winter clothes and pink glasses below is Berry, MFO’s very own little fashionista!
Gingersnaps gave outfits for the two bugoys to wear to the event. Grabe ang bait lang nila talaga! We had a hard time choosing outfits for Noah because one, nahihiya kami and two, with all the cute options for boys that they have ang hirap pumili! Can I just say how thankful I am that their clothes for boys are truly stylish and preppy? Skinny chinos, lightweight sweaters and shirts in chambray, gingham and polka dots, etc. etc. Thank you for making all our pogi little boys look dapper!
The SoKids were in full force during the fashion show and were all decked in Gingersnaps. They made the runway their playground after the show was over.
Sabrina taking a bow after the show. Applause from enthusiastic fans of the brand greeted her 🙂
Dan and I really love knowing the people behind successful Filipino businesses. It drives us to do more for ManilaBaby even if it means doing it in small, measured steps. If we can be half as successful as Gingersnaps, we know we made it!
Congratulations Jerry and Sabrina and Sherry!! Thank you for making our kids look even more adorable! Cheers 😀
