Do you know that sharks continuously shed their teeth throughout their lifetime and that the lemon shark replaces its teeth every 8-10 days? I absolutely feel that DW is the same thing. No, I don’t mean he lives at sea and feeds on Australian surfers everyday but our pediatrician told us that the number and the size of David’s chompers are for 9 or 10 month old babies not for 7 month old kids. RAAR!!
Extra fussy and super cryola, this weekend was absolutely rough! Also, I’m worried that he’s not getting enough milk in his system although he is eating solids now. His intake usually drops when he’s teething; he can’t drink because his gums are too sensitive. Good thing his pedia has prescribed vitamin C drops for him now. I also make it a point to ask our pedia during our monthly visits if DW’s height and weight are within the range for babies his age. DW’s height and weight are average, which means he’s not a fatty and a giant (which I want him to be, LOL!) and our doctor has reassured me that DW’s growing up properly.
Bugoy is asleep now. His mood has gotten better around late Sunday afternoon and he was rolling around in our bed again like the WWE wrestler he’s probably planning to be. He didn’t put up much of a fight unlike last Saturday when the hubby (whom we shall call Big DW or BDW going forward haha) and I basically had to rock him to sleep until 3 in the morning. I ran out of songs to sing to him and I ended up singing the NanoNano song (alam nyo yun? yung nauso na candy? anyway BDW pleaded me to stop) DW was definitely tired from the long Saturday we had and probably sick and tired of the pain in his gums.
Hopefully things improve tomorrow. A friend has advised that I put butter on DWs gums and a friend texted that I try Xylogel. I have to ask my pedia about these first.
Here’s DW’s weekend in pictures:
up and about and waiting for mommy or daddy to wake up….he screams if i don’t wake up right away. sorry po ser!
updating his facebook status “wazzzzaaaap!!! off to cavite later to partaaay!”
his new turtle bath buddies
the cavite partaaay at verdana
underage drinker
posing for a family picture. this was the best shot.
then we went to tahanan village to have dinner with family and went home at around 10 p.m.
on our way home. we never saw the early morning cryfest coming….
SUNDAY
DW woke up, pooped and had breakfast. He spent the morning playing with his grandma and grandpa while me and BDW slept in. I woke up, had breakfast (which really means me downing a jug of coffee) and got DW to lay him down for his morning nap.
DW of course fussy but when I placed him on his crib he slept right away. He was probably exhausted as well. I rested for a bit and soon enough DW woke up crying. Dear teething, I hate you.
Harry the bear was on duty. It really looks like he’s watching over DW here…cute and creepy at the same time LOL!
We gave DW a bath and after a while he drank milk and passed out while doing so. His face was still dirty from the teething biscuit he was munching on. I couldn’t clean his face well because he was having none of it and would screaaaaam whenever I’d wipe his face.
knocked out like hatton
DW napping = bliss. that’s BDW clipping DW’s toenails at the back.
That was the weekend. It’s 10 pm now. I’ll be waking DW up in an hour for his nightly feeding. I’ll be crossing my fingers though and will be hoping that he sleeps right away!
Gaah…teething’s a b*!ch.
Is your baby teething too? Are you faring better?

March 17, 2010 at 10:04 amFirst of all, I have to say that I really enjoy reading your blog. Anyway, my Summer’s 10 months old now. She has 3 already. The 4th tooth is starting to come out. I don’t really have a problem with her teething. She just drools excessively and puts anything she gets hold of into her mouth. Her appetite for food and milk is the same. 🙂 It’s really different for every baby. So, okay lang yan. 😉

July 27, 2009 at 8:41 amGrabe Nevs ha… daming mong blog! Hahaha Tell BDW, his leg wax is waaaay overdue! Hahaha I remember Ava getting cranky too but she wasn’t as cranky as David when she was teething (thank goodness!). I didn’t even need to use anything. And her teething biscuit was… MARIE biscuits!!! They’re cheap and they get really soft when it’s inside their mouth.

August 3, 2009 at 8:48 amhaha hi ~E~! my mom told us that we ate Marie too when my brothers and I were all teething. The biscuits get really soft that you won’t have to worry about the baby choking on a big piece of bitten off biscuit 🙂 She bought the teething biscuits in the US and fortunately David likes them. When we run out, Marie biscuits na kami haha 😀

July 27, 2009 at 8:33 amMy baby Laz started teething really early, (4th month), so we’re over that hump (he has 6 teeth now). But the 4th month was hell – just like what DW is going through now. We’d also wrap a small ice cube in a small and thin wash cloth, and have him suck on that. It helps to relieve the pain temporarily. Or use water-filled teethers, fresh from the ‘fridge, to help numb the gums. Overall though, I don’t think there’s a real cure to teething pains – patience is a virtue. Poor baby!
DW looks adorable in the sunglasses!
As to BDW – oy, what’s wrong with the Nano Nano song! Teehee! Reminds me of high school, hahaha. DW’s mommy used to sing it non stop hahaha
