Hi everyone! This post officially kicks off my series of posts on how I planned DW’s first birthday party. BDW and I were definitely blessed to have worked with such really gracious vendors who really delivered. If you’re on the lookout for a host or entertainer for your kid’s party I highly recommend Jiggles the Balloon Lady.
Jiggles the Balloon Lady or Jiggles (her real name is Jing Simpao Callanta) knocked everyone’s socks off at DW’s party. I never expected that she’d make the party so fun and awesome for both the kids AND the adults. She really wowed everyone with her unique balloon sculptures which the kids all took home!
Truth be told, hiring a host nor any kind of entertainment was never part of our plans for DW’s party. BDW and I wanted the day to be easy-breezy with people coming in to have lunch and catch up. One other thing why we were hesitant was that there weren’t enough older kids who would really enjoy any sort of show. We figured that a dog show or a bubble show might be wasted on babies.
However I figured that the older kids still do need some kind of distraction. I settled on hiring a balloon artist and maybe some face paint artists as well. No shows definitely.
As I was looking for someone to contact for this, I came about Jiggles in OurAwesomePlanet. She performed at ExpoMom and the pictures at the site showed her with balloon animals, monkeys, coconut trees and Disney princesses. It wasn’t your ordinary kind of balloon twisting but honestly I was ok with dogs, swords and poodle shaped balloons, pang-aliw lang naman e.
I found Jing’s multiply and contacted her. I booked her right away without getting any feedback from the moms at N@W. That was so unlike me haha but I wasn’t worried about it though, I just needed her to show up and I wasn’t expecting a lot from her too.
But boy was I in for a wonderful surprise! Jing did a whole show and was a great host who really engaged and thrilled the kids. She did games for the kids, games for the adults and games for both the kids and the adults. Because we didn’t plan for any entertainment, we didn’t buy any prizes!! So BDW was handing out cash to the kids haha 😀 But it was all good though (thank God konti lang din yung mga bata haha). As you can see from the pics too, we also didn’t plan for any shows too so the kids didn’t have any kiddie chairs for them to sit on. Jing really took us by surprise haha 😀
Now before I babble on, here are pics of Jing’s balloon art. No ordinary balloon twisting here folks. All pics in this post were taken by the awesome Ging Lorenzo and her sister Pie.
The monkey and his coconut tree (Disney Playhouse’s Ooh)
Thomas the Engine (see the steam coming from Thomas’ stack!)
Oscar the Grouch and Elmo
Princess Aurora (she also did Cinderella)
The Little Mermaid (in a purple bikini top no less!)
And my favorite!!
NEMO!! with bubbles and seaweeds 😀
The kids brought home all the balloons.
Here are the big kids who also had a lot of fun at the party
Thank you so much Jing for making DW’s party so special and memorable!

Thanks for posting!
Just curious, what were the games for the adult guests?
neva adelane says
January 11, 2010 at 4:20 pmhi maqui! 😀 for the adults she did an 80’s music game where the adults had to guess which song Jiggles was playing from her ipod. To answer, the adults had to raise their hands hehe. Another game was was the longest line game — pero pataas! haha 2 ladies and 2 daddies were picked and they represented the girls and the boys. Fun sya kasi kahit ano pwede mo ilagay para tumaas yung tower. I think yung last is when the kids were told to bring their mom and dad to the front tapos Jiggles gave the kids straws and the kids had to stick the straws into the hair of their parent. Whoever had the most won 😀
