a.ka. the post that probably a lot of you are waiting for 🙂
Ok! Now let’s talk about THE FOOD!
The DealGrocer voucher we got did not include any meals. Being the kind of resort Bellarocca is, I estimated a budget of 500 per meal. I was right. A meal without drinks would cost you 450-500. Merienda was from 250-400. All the meals we had (BDW ordered extra breakfast pa on our last day because DW finished his order of Chicken Arrozcaldo:p) plus a dessert I ordered during dinner and merienda for the two afternoons we spent there set us back by almost 7k. We only had water with all our meals.
The food is good but it’s not spectacular. The portions however are generous. We all felt that we paid a fair price for what we all ate (and we really ate a lot during our stay there). We had our meals at the main dining area but we had dinner at our last night at our Terraza. There is a room service charge of 20 percent though, which we thought was really unnecessary. We ordered standard Pinoy fare like Lechon Kawali, Pork and Chicken Adobo, and Sinigang. DW and I shared meals and he ate a lot! We ordered merienda all throughout our stay with my brothers ordering their burgers. I ordered Clubhouse sandwiches and Montecristos.
The best meal that I had was the Eggs Benedict which I ordered during breakfast on our last day.
But if there was a bestseller, guaranteed-to-make-your-day dish in the resort it’s this:
We didn’t go beyond our meal budget save for the Sinigang BDW ordered. It was 650 but it was good for two. A good tip that I could share with you is to eat brunch and early dinner while you’re there. For merienda, I recommend the clubhouse sandwich because you can share that with a friend and it comes with a heaping serving of fries. We were able to bring food but they were all for DW though since we brought cereals and cookies for the little one. On hindsight, we should’ve bought at least a bag of chips and some pastries. Instant coffee and bottled water were free. We ordered safe food because one, we wanted to be sure about what we’re eating and two, we can’t afford to experiment with “delicacies” because Php500 per meal was all we could spend.
The Verdict: Bellarocca was worth every penny of the DealGrocer voucher we got. The staff is absolutely friendly and accommodating and the service is impeccable. The amenities are topnotch (I miss our big bed at the Terraza!). If you’re searching for a vacation that is relaxing and stress-free then you should consider flying to this island.
