If you grew up in the 1980s, there is no way you escaped this reaaally catchy theme song:
I personally loved singing the falsetto {bring out the lee kum kee!} wahaha
But that’s how long Lee Kum Kee has been a part of our family and household. I always remember that we always had a bottle of Oyster Sauce in our pantry. Whenever we’d dine out at a Chinese restaurant, a staple order would be Brocolli in Oyster Sauce and I would always think of Lee Kum Kee and the commercial of course {bring out the lee kum kee!}
Now that I am trying my hands at cooking, my best source of recipes are friends, other family members, and even Noah’s teachers! I love learning about tried and tested recipes and listening to my friends teach me about their secrets make me want to cook even more!
Lee Kum Kee recently held a recipe swap and a demo at the Marmalade Kitchen. 3 of my good friends shared their recipes and showed us how to make easy dishes for our family!
Eli, Michelle and Mish plus host Suzi showed us how to make simple recipes even more delish with Lee Kum Kee.
Suzi’s Thai Omelette is a great twist to your regular omelette and brings this dish from breakfast to lunch to dinner!
Mish showed us grilled salmon! This is a hearty healthy dish that I would really love to try soon! Salmon is one of my favorite fishes and I love trying out new ways to enjoy it.
Michelle did Tofu Saute. I cooked this already but I forget to add Sesame Oil!! Haay not reading the recipe nyahaha! pero it really tastes good and the trick is to use firm tofu so that you can saute without breaking the pieces. This recipe is so easy to make too and is a good way of introducing tofu to the kids.
This last recipe is LOVE! I love asparagus and this is one way of really bringing out the flavors of this vegetable in an such an easy way. A generous sprinkling of garlic and Lee Kum Kee’s Oyster Sauce are all you need for this lovely dish. Doing this dish is so easy that Eli cooked this while enjoying a glass of wine!
I’ve printed out these recipes and have kept them in my bag so that when I go to the grocery I can pick up the ingredients. Go ahead and save these too, these are really easy dishes to keep in your arsenal when you’ve run out of lunch or dinner ideas.
