A new year always bring forth a new hope for better things to come our way. I have always had one or two resolutions every year but now I am doing it differently. I only have one goal this year and that is to do more of the things that nourish my soul.
Experts have always said that Goals need to be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely) so my resolution just goes against this. But I have good feeling about this though and I am excited. Nourishing my soul means feeding good stuff to my mind, body and spirit in whatever way that I can and whenever. It’s not going to take any major life changing decisions, just small conscious day-to-day decisions that hopefully add up to a much more better year. And feeding my soul also means allowing myself to “cheat” sometimes without the major guilt because really we do need to reward ourselves with something indulgent every now and then diba? Seriously, I need chocolates in my life! hehehe 😀
So I am allowing myself to make the following decisions for the next year:
1) Choose to eat healthier food whenever possible (I will lessen my trips to Pao Tsin haha)
2) Choose to drink water vs. soda for all meals when possible
3) Choose to read before bedtime vs checking my social media accounts
4) Choose to always decide from a place of freedom (not from envy, anger, hurt, fear, anxiety etc. Coach Pia taught me how, I have to consciously live it)
5) Choose to Hope not Worry
5 seemingly simple things that I pray will help me make better decisions for myself and my family. The road ahead will always be fraught with challenges but I am choosing a calmer way to confront them. The bigger picture for me is to be at peace with myself and my decisions. The hope is that better decisions will mean a better year for my family, work, friends, this blog, etc as well.
2015, I am welcoming you with a big, warm hug. Whereas before I was super pumped for the new year, this year, I am easing into it. I am dipping my toes first, testing the waters and then I will slowly submerge myself.
How about you, what are you prioritizing this year?
And before I end this post, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!
