I could never relate to folks who’ve fallen asleep during massages. Massages definitely relax me but not to the point of me catching zzzzs during the session. When my bare body is being kneaded like tough dough by a complete stranger, the last thing I want to happen is to fall asleep. Well, that all changed when two saturdays ago I went to Nuat Thai libis for a day of massages and relaxation with a group of mommy bloggers. I finally fell asleep during my massage and here’s why:
Separate cubicles!!! The spa that I usually go to has a common area for massages and you have to pay extra for your own room. For 250 at Nuat Thai Libis, you get your own room, your own robe AND SHORTS (yay for not being butt nekkid) and an hour to relax. Knowing that it’s just me and my massage therapist allowed me to be really comfortable and most importantly at ease. I asked for the therapist for a gentle massage (“not so hard ate”). It was the best massage ever I thought but nope…the Thai foot massage was waiting for me…
After my swedish massage, I also availed of a Thai foot massage. This is the area where you get your paws pampered.
While seated comfortably, your therapist will place one heated pad behind your neck and another one for your back. Then a soothing Thai foot massage follows. After a few seconds I was already sleeping!!! I woke up when the therapist told me our sessions over! I didn’t want it to end!!ย BEST FOOT MASSAGE EVER!!! (ang daming exclamation points!!!)
The whole package costs Php600. Value for money I say.
The facilities are top notch and very clean. The therapists are pleasant and very skilled. My body didn’t feel like mush after the Swedish massage. Also, before you’re taken to the massage, you’re taken to the footwash area which really sets your day of pampering toย a good start ๐
The therapists apply a powder on your skin after the massage which absorbs all the oil right away. You can go to an event after your massage if you want to!
It was a fun and relaxing Saturday indeed with these fine mommy bloggers! See how relaxed I am? Laki ng tawa ko e ahaha ๐ (and my blouse is almost falling off my shoulders!)
I plan to go back with my hubby soon. Massage therapists always tell me that “madami akong lamig” — I have no idea what that means but I guess it means I have a lot of pent-up stress? They also focus on my shoulders a lot too, that’s probably the area where my “lamig” is. Yes parang pasan ko ang daigdig kasi araw-araw :p
Nuat Thai Libis is the best. If you plan to visit, better ring them up first as their slots get filled up pretty easily. On busy days like Saturdays, they can have up to 18 therapists on board and the spa is sometimes open til 4am!
Nuat Thai Libis! I’ll be back!!
