Last Saturday, I was invited to Robinson’s Galleria to cover their month long 20th anniversary sale. I practically grew up in Galleria because as a QC girl, it was an easy mall to go to with its great selection of stores and brands. We still go to the mall every so often and it’s great to see that mall has continued to be vibrant and that it has changed with the times.
Our little brood went to Toys R’ Us to look for toys for an upcoming trip to the beach!
After picking up a couple of toy boats I went around to take more pictures and saw this:
Rubbabu toys! I picked up one and it was velvety, really light, soft and super squishy! And then I squeezed. And squeezed. I did not want to let go!!! One of the staff members of Toys R’ Us told me that the product is made of natural foam and is safe for kids. The material is also washable.
I went to the Rubbabu website and yep, the product is made of natural rubber foam, which has inherent anti-microbial properties. Because it’s natural, the products don’t need softeners and are therefore free from phthalates (learn more about phthalates here)
It helps that the designs and the colors are so adorable too.
They are however expensive. Their small toy truck is about Php 300 already although I already expected this because I know that the production processes of safe toys and products are different from the norm. In our family, toys like these are indeed worth the price because these toys are well made in addition to being safe. These toys however are bought only for special occasions and as a cute reward or a gift for a toddler. As an adult though these toys make for really cute stress balls haha 🙂
Here are my personal picks:
The Alphabet Set (around Php2,990)
Train Set (around Php1,500)
Dune Buggy (Around Php 795)
Tools (About Php 1,000)
Check out Rubbabu Toys at all Toys R’ Us branches!
Disclosure: I was given gift checks by Robinson’s Galleria and Toys R’ Us in exchange for the coverage. This arrangement however did not dictate the content of this post. The items I bought at Toys R’ Us are also bought with my own money.
