I got this invite and info on SOS Children’s Village and I’m helping to spread the word about this great cause. They will be hosting an event on August 23, 6PM in SOS Batangas to recognize SOS mothers who have dedicated their lives to taking care of children and loving them as their own.
On August 28 in SOS Bataan, the newest and the first community integrated orphan center will be inaugurated.
On both occasions, Dr. Helmut Kutin, SOS International President, who himself was an orphan at 5 and grew up in SOS, will be there and is open for interviews.

SOS Children’s Villages is an international non-governmental social development organization that has been active in the field of children’s rights and committed to children’s needs and concerns since 1949. In 132 countries and territories, their activities focus on children without parental care and children of families in difficult circumstances.
Here in the Philippines, SOS Children’s Villages are present in Calbayog, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Lipa, Manila, Tacloban and, the newest, in Bataan.
SOS Children’s Village Bataan opened its doors for the first 13 children on February 20, 2009. Today, it is now home to 96 children with 27 mothers and co-workers providing a supportive and protective family environment.
On August 30, 2010, SOS Children’s Village Bataan will be inaugurated to formally open its doors to the larger community of Bataan.
