(If you want to know how to get the digitized SSS ID go to my post here)
OUR SSS ID’s ARE HEEEEEREEE!! After almost 6 months, BDW and I finally got our SSS cards in the mail. According to a friend who works in SSS and who’s also running the blog Pinoygov.com (“Your LIFESAVER when transacting with Philippine Government Agencies”) the agency is really trying its best but the backlog for processing the IDs is really huge. The downtime for broken machines also account for the slow processing
Anyhow, as I’ve told you in my post about getting the SSS ID, as long as you have your E-6 stub, you are good to go and you can claim your maternity benefits.
Pinoygov.com also suggests calling the branch first before going there to check if their ID machines are working. Call a day before and call on the day of your visit to make sure that your trip won’t be wasted.
The list of the branches are found after the cut

October 5, 2011 at 12:54 pmHi, nagpa ID ako sa taguig branch month of july 2009 but as of now wala pa rin dumaratng na mail from sss. I called them yestersday but as per them for processing pa rin, knowing that its 2011 month of oct and yet for processing pa rin ang status. Grabe namn ang proseso ng sss at tumagal ng 2 years.
Nag email din ako directly sa main office nila a month ago and yet no response from them.
Hope you could help to assist us on this if you have friend working in sss. Thanks

March 10, 2011 at 1:33 pmhi oliver –
I am not from SSS so I can’t tell you why your ID is not with you yet. It’s best to contact them directly so you could get your answers straight from the source.

June 29, 2010 at 10:15 amThe SSS should improve this service. In Laguna, the BINAN ID capture stopped working last year, so people have to go all the way to San Pablo. the
long distance deters people from getting the ID. Hopefully, the PNoy administration proffers an improvement.

June 30, 2010 at 9:26 pm@thomasmmm i agree! although sss is definitely one of the more efficient gov’t agencies, there is still room for improvement. hopefully basic gov’t services improve under Pres. Noynoy’s administration. thanks for the comment!

December 18, 2009 at 7:24 amWe were at the san juan branch yesterday to have our ID’s taken. I wanted to have my ID changed to my married name, while my friend needed her ID for her maternity benefit. No need to go back twice in the San Juan branch. We were there before 8, may pila na. But konti lang kami (maybe due to the xmas season). When the branch opened at 8am, we were asked to give our E-6 forms to the guard. Then we were called by the staff who checks the info written on the form. I had to pay Php150 coz it’s the 2nd time I’ll get an ID (first timers need not pay). Then we went to the picture taking station. We were done in 40 mins.
I think the San Juan branch is less toxic than the Diliman branch. If you’re pretty early, mabilis lang talaga. So for us southerners,San Juan is much nearer than QC branches =).
