I really had a craving for pasta with tomato cream sauce last week and so I decided to cook this really easy and quick recipe for lunch last Saturday. You only need a few ingredients too!
The sauce is tangy, rich and creamy. I served it as is but you can put in cherry tomatoes and basil or if you want to make it heartier, put in ground beef too.
Ingredients:
1/2 large white onion chopped finely
2 cloves of garlic chopped finely
1/2 lb pasta noodles (any will do but for this recipe I used spaghetti)
3 250 gram packs tomato sauce
1 pack cream
grated parmesan cheese
salt
paprika
butter
olive oil
How To’s:
In a pan, put in equal parts of butter and olive oil then add the onions and garlic. Saute the onions until they’re transparent.
Put in the tomato sauce and let it simmer. Once that’s done add the cream!
Your sauce will turn into a bright orange! At this point, taste the sauce and add sugar if you feel that it’s too acidic. I didn’t add sugar to our sauce because we love to really taste the tomatoes in our pasta sauces.
Once the sauce simmers a bit, add in the parmesan, a bit of salt and paprika
You can then add the sauce into the noodles or add the noodles into the pasta. I did the latter because I didn’t want the onions and garlic anymore, I just wanted to give the noodles a good coating of the sauce. You can use a strainer or a slotted spoon, whatever is easier for you.
Serve and sprinkle with extra parmesan cheese!
This sauce is so easy that it’s impossible to screw it up and because it’s so basic, you can add on to it depending on your family’s tastes. I served this for lunch with fried chicken wings. Solb na solb! With ice cold coke pa haha 😀
Enjoy muthers! Happy cooking!
