This post is looooong overdue!! Noah was baptized last February and I’m only compiling my supplier ratings now hehe 😛 But late as my post maybe, Noah’s baptism is milestone for him and the family. It was a chance for us to really praise God for watching over Noah during the times when his health was so fragile. The reception afterwards was a way for us to give thanks to the wonderful friends and family who have rallied around our family and most especially Noah, cheering him on and praying for him.
Before settling on a clubhouse for Noah’s baptism, Dan and I went around possible venues in the Libis and Pasig area. Our families are split between the South and the North and so finding a venue that’s easy to go to for both is a must.
1) Outback Steakhouse Libis
We checked out Outback Steakhouse Libis because a friend held her baby’s baptismal reception there. We loved the food that was served then. For their party packages the rate per plate starts from 399 upwards. What made us decide not to do the party there were:
a) Venue Size: The venue was small for our headcount (we were working with 180 guests); and
b) Lights: The place was dimly lit. For the celebration, we wanted a venue that was light and airy . We had to dress up the resto very well for us to achieve that. What’s good though is they have no restrictions with party decors.
If you want to inquire about Outback Steakhouse Libis, you can call them at this number: (632) 6343801
2) Friday’s Eastwood
We also checked out Fridays Eastwood. The prices of their party packages were almost similar with Outback Steakhouse at 399 per plate. Of course, you really can’t go wrong with Friday’s parang party food naman lahat ng food dun haha 😀 We decided not to hold Noah’s baptismal reception there because
a) Venue Size: The party venue was oddly shaped. The upstairs venue wasn’t one big open space. There were angles that wouldn’t allow guests to see the whole venue and there was a huge post in the middle too. The veranda is included in the 2nd floor venue but it’s weird to have guests outside and some inside. The manager that time told me and Dan that 200 people can fit in the area if you include the veranda.
b) Limited Decorating Options: Well Friday’s won’t be Friday’s without the explosion of memorabilia everywhere in the restaurant. So the options for decorating is really limited. Although I wasn’t planning on bongga decors for Noah’s reception, I wanted the venue to at least have a lot of options for decor.
If you need to find out more about this venue, you can contact them via: (0932) 895-7248
So Dan and I moved on to clubhouses again. We checked Acropolis where David had his baptismal reception (see my post about David’s suppliers here) but the clubhouse was booked on the dates we wanted. So we moved on to Valle Verde V’s Social Hall. The venue was free for Feb. 16 and so we booked it!
The hall is not our first choice but we definitely do not regret our decision. Here are some Pros and Cons for booking the venue:
Pros: Lots of parking spaces, early set-up is allowed, clean rest rooms, a big playground is just outside the social hall so kids can go out and play there, air conditioning is available
Cons: Low ceiling, the venue is a bit run down especially if you go to the bar area
I took these pics with my phone during my goddaughter’s baptism:
