When DW was sick a few months back, I cooked up these fried apples so that he’d get a sweet treat after his breakfast. DW had a cold then and was feeling miserable (and so were BDW and I) and so I thought that an extra special dessert was needed to lift our weary selves up.
It’s a simple recipe that you could also do as a side dish I guess — I really can’t say much about main dishes as my cooking repertoire only consists of banana-raisin pancakes and grilled cheese sandwiches haha.
My good friend Steph shared with me her recipe for fried apples. I didn’t use any measurements I just adjusted as I went on with the “cooking”
Ingredients: For the bowl of fried apples above, I used around two to three medium-sized apples cut into thick wedges.
You’ll also need butter, cinnamon and/or nutmeg and brown sugar.
Instructions:
Melt butter over medium heat in small frying pan.
Add apples, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Saute until apples are tender.
And you’re done!! 😀
Serves one sick kiddo and two sleep-deprived parents.
DW’s breakfast: Toasted wheat bread, scrambled eggs and fried apples. Breakfast of champions!!
Have a great week everyone 🙂
