Nov. 7 was the end of an era. NU 107, the home of New Rock closed its doors forever (well in its current form at least). The frequency has been bought by block timers who will now broadcast an entirely different genre of music. DWNU, the call letters will be dropped. The right edge of our dial will never be the same again.
As with a lot of fans, last night was like attending a wake 😛 A vigil if you may call it that. Jocks old and new came and said their goodbyes with familiar voices filling the air once last time. I was so surprised to hear DJ Roxy (Roxie?) again. I loved her voice. I wish DJ Claire could have said good bye too. I still remember that ad she does for NU for Rever haha.
But anyway, I stayed up last night and recorded bits and pieces of NU’s final goodbyes. Here they all are. Enjoy 🙂

Huling El Bimbo was the song played and then Lupang Hiniring played and then static. The hubby drove by himself to the office today and told me “Wala akong mapakinggan” (I couldn’t listen to anything).
You’re welcome! Rock on! 😀
