Last Saturday, someone got inducted to the Church of Mickey π
Disney Live came to Manila and held shows at Smart-Araneta Coliseum. We bought Upper Box tickets right away when we heard about the show because we knew the tickets would sell out fast. We didn’t tell DW about the concert although we did tell him that we’re going to see Mickey soon. He probably thought that we were going to watch the Mickey Mouse club on TV all the while hehe. When we got to our seats, DW sat and ate his popcorn and quietly waited. He wasn’t giddy at all or restless! He was so well behaved! But by the time the show started, he was clapping, shouting and singing with the best of them!
The show was fun and it was absolutely entertaining! I was expecting to be half-bored but nope we had fun too! My favorite was when Sebastian and the daughters of Trident sang and danced to All the Single Ladies! The production was top notch and the show used the coliseum’s big screens so everyone had a great view of what went on the stage.
Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy were the main stars and hosts of the show. Mickey was definitely the star — the Kuya Germs of the concert haha! He introduced each segment with one or all of his “co-hosts” with really fun song and dance numbers. The main characters from Aladdin, Little Mermaid and Toy Story all showed up and did excerpts and song numbers from the movies they starred in (I felt a little tug in my heart when the set for Toy Story appeared, Steve Jobs did have a hand with Pixar)
Princess Jasmine, Genie and Aladdin
Sebastian and the Daughters of Triton singing All the Single Ladies!
Ariel
Ursula and Ariel
Toy Story! The toy soldiers were so cute!
The Toy Soldiers with Woody, Jessie, Mickey and Minnie
With Buzz!
The Grand Finale
When the week of the show came, the main thought in my head was “I will be surrounded by a thousand screaming kids going gaga over a mouse and his friends. Ugh” I don’t think I can pinpoint the exact time that I outgrew Disney but as soon as we sat down on our seats at the Coliseum, I looked at DW and I realized that it was his turn to be mesmerized by the wonderful world of Disney. It’s the circle of life and Mickey’s got himself another believer π
Bow to the Mouse! Lol
