The last in my series of posts on DW’s party is finally here! In this round, I’ll be posting about DW’s loot bags, safari hats, prizes and of course the venue.

DW’s safari loot bags are specially made because we couldn’t find any ready made loot bags out there that fit the party’s theme. The full story on how we got to having our own bags made can be found here. BDW and I had a feeling that the bags will be snatched up not by the kiddies but by the moms. True enough, they did! The loot bags make for great lunch bags as they are lined and have long enough handles for moms to comfortably carry.

Safari Helmets

BDW wanted hats for the kids when he saw party hats at a toy store. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find hats that were just right for the theme. Honestly, I was ok with having no hats at all for the party but surprisingly, BDW was determined to find some. It was Ebay who came to the rescue. We bought the hats online and had it delivered to a friend who was coming home to Manila.

Each kid got one and to BDW’s credit, it was a great detail to have for DW’s party.

Hi everyone

Up next in my list of partners that we worked with for DW’s party is Reg Silva of Wedgienet. Reg is a freelance illustrator who quit a major TV station to focus on her passion (plus the fact that she was fatigued at her job already). I’m not sure how I got to Reg’s website but I’m so glad I got to know her.

For DW’s baptism, I made my own baptismal invites using MSPowerpoint (haha!!). It was a fun project but for DW’s big birthday bash, I decided to enlist the help of a pro. Reg is a member of the Ang InK or Ang Illustrador ng Kabataan.  If you see those illustrations in Tahanan and Adarna books, most of them are done by Ang InK members.  I also browsed Reg’s site and saw her portfolio and her notebook shop which showed really cool and cute teddy bears, donuts, cupcakes and many more. I was hesitant at first to contact her but I gave it a shot and so I emailed her about DW’s invites to which she responded with a Yes! She was considering creating invites at that point and so she willingly took me on.

We corresponded via email. I told her about DW’s theme and after a few drafts and email exchanges, we finally had DW’s invite:

Hello hello! I am turbo blogging yes I am haha I’m rushing DW’s supplier ratings because well one, it’s been one month since DW’s birthday celebration and it’s a N@Wie (newlyweds@work member) tradition to do supplier ratings  as soon as possble to keep the planning stories ‘fresh’ so to speak. One other thing is that on Friday, I’m doing a giveway and nope it’s not the Kid Expo tickets just yet! I’ll give you two hints, it’s purple and it’s not a dinosaur (mahirap i-LBC si Barney!)

Now on to Ging Ging is a  N@Wie favorite and has always topped the list for kiddie photographers. I’ve been to several online parenting forums too and Ging’s name is always mentioned when moms are looking for good photographers to work with.

We worked with Ging and her sister Pie during DW’s baptism. Ging is quiet and unobtrusive and the pics that we got for DW’s baptism are wonderful. Although we posed for family portraits, the candid shots are priceless.  Ging was the first vendor I booked for DW’s birthday. I patiently waited to get over the 6 month period she had for booking events (you can’t book 6 months before your event, too early). As soon as that period was up. Hala! Text ako agad haha
